What each column means

The table opens with every column showing: these are the specs that set one 2K monitor apart from another and that you cannot see in the photo.

  • Model: the product name without the "27-inch QHD gaming monitor" filler Amazon puts in every title. The ⓘ icon opens the photo and the full listing details.
  • Price: what it costs on Amazon.com right now. The table is sorted from cheapest to most expensive, and the price filter sets your budget.
  • Size: the screen diagonal in inches. At 27" a 2K panel packs about 109 pixels per inch, the sweet spot for sharpness; at 32" it drops to 92 and at 24" it climbs to 122.
  • Aspect: 16:9 is standard 2K (2560 × 1440); 21:9 is the 3440 × 1440 ultrawide and 32:9 the 5120 × 1440 super ultrawide.
  • Panel: IPS for color and viewing angles, VA for contrast and deep blacks, OLED for true black and instant response, TN for the cheapest fast screens.
  • Hz: the refresh rate, or how many frames per second the screen shows. 60 Hz is fine for office work, 144 to 180 Hz for gaming and 240 Hz or more for competitive play.
  • Response: how many milliseconds a pixel takes to change, as claimed by the maker. Lower means less motion blur; OLEDs go down to 0.03 ms.
  • HDR: the brightness certification. HDR10 only means it accepts the signal; DisplayHDR 400 and 600 guarantee that brightness, and True Black is the OLED tier.
  • Ports: the best HDMI and DisplayPort versions listed. At 1440p, HDMI 2.0 usually tops out at 144 Hz; above that you need DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.1.
  • USB-C: video over USB-C, so a laptop connects with a single cable; "Charging" means the monitor also powers it.
  • Shape: flat or curved. A curve pays off from 32" up and on ultrawides, where the edges sit far from your eyes.

You will also see the Amazon star rating and units bought in the past month. Untick the ones you do not need under "Columns", or hit "Essentials" to keep just the basics. The checkboxes on the left filter by brand, size, aspect ratio, panel, refresh rate, HDR, USB-C and shape. An empty cell means Amazon does not list that spec for the product, not that the monitor lacks it. Tap ☆ to save a model to your favorites and we will flag it if the price drops; tick the box next to it to add it to the comparison, up to four at a time.

What is a 2K monitor? 2K vs 1440p vs QHD explained

On monitors, 2K, 1440p and QHD (Quad HD) all mean the same thing: a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels, four times the pixels of a 720p HD screen and 1.78 times those of Full HD. Strictly speaking, cinema 2K is 2048 × 1080, but the monitor industry settled on 2K for 1440p and that is what every listing below means.

WQHD is the same 2560 × 1440 with the "wide" spelled out, while UWQHD (3440 × 1440) and DQHD (5120 × 1440) keep the 1440-pixel height on wider 21:9 and 32:9 screens.

2K vs 4K: which resolution you actually need

A 4K screen (3840 × 2160) has 2.25 times the pixels of 2K. On a 27" monitor that is 163 pixels per inch against 109: sharper text and more room for photo and video editing, but your graphics card has to push more than twice the pixels every frame.

For gaming, 2K is the sweet spot: a mid-range GPU holds 144 Hz or more at 1440p, while the same card struggles to hit 60 fps in 4K. Pick 4K if you mostly work with text, spreadsheets or photos and rarely play; pick 2K if you want high refresh rates without paying for a flagship GPU.

27-inch 2K monitors

27 inches is the size 2K was made for: from 24 to 32 inches away, text looks crisp at 100% scaling with no need to zoom the interface. It is also where most models live, including nearly every IPS and OLED panel from 144 to 360 Hz, which makes it the default pick for a monitor you both work and play on.

32-inch and 24-inch 2K monitors

At 31.5–32 inches, 2K drops to about 92 pixels per inch: everything looks bigger, but text gets softer up close, so sit at least 32 inches away. Many are curved VA panels with strong contrast for movies and games, and they are the budget alternative to a 32" 4K when your GPU cannot keep up.

At 23.8–24.5 inches, the same resolution climbs to about 122 pixels per inch: very sharp text on a small desk, and a favorite for esports players who want the whole screen in view.

2K OLED monitors

On an OLED every pixel lights itself, so it can switch off completely: true black, near-infinite contrast and a 0.03 ms response time that wipes out motion blur. At 1440p there are two families, QD-OLED and WOLED, and almost all of them run at 240 Hz or faster.

The trade-offs: they cost more, get dimmer on full-screen white pages and can show burn-in from static elements left on screen for hours. They ship with panel-care routines, and it is worth checking whether the warranty covers burn-in before you buy.

2K monitors at 144Hz and 240Hz

144Hz is where gaming monitors start: motion looks far smoother than at 60Hz, and any current mid-range graphics card gets there at 1440p. The 165, 170 and 180Hz models in between cost about the same and are worth taking if the price is right.

240Hz is for competitive shooters, and it only pays off if your PC renders more than 200 frames per second in those games; paired with OLED or a 1 ms panel is where the difference shows most. Consoles top out at 120Hz, so for a PS5 or Xbox Series X a 144Hz monitor already covers everything.
